Were you ever in the audience at a Taboo Tales show? Did you ever win a set of penis magnets for admitting that you only think your kid is slightly cute? If not you, it was some other lucky soul.

For 10 years, I curated and produced the Hollywood storytelling show, Taboo Tales. It’s motto was, “The more we all talk about how fucked up we are, the more normal we all feel.” Countless brave storytellers took to the stage to share what they felt was “fucked up” about their lives. And countless audience members submitted anonymously to tell the whole theater about their super secret lives.

Why? Because it’s freeing.

Oh wow it’s freeing. After holding something in for so long, getting it out feels as refreshing as a naked dip in a waterfall. When a story lurks inside you and you’re too ashamed to tell it, it holds all the power over you, which is so not fair. So why not take it out, put it on paper, roll it around, laugh at it, tell it to an audience, and watch all its power disintegrate? It really works.

Each workshop takes writers (no experience necessary) on a ride through a story that’s been tugging at them, a story that needs to get out.
We spend 6 weeks working on that story, and then we take it to the stage. On a Hollywood stage in front of friends, family, strangers, random people, we let it be known that some event happened to us and changed our lives.

THESE WORKSHOPS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY TWICE A YEAR TO THE PUBLIC.
PRIVATE CORPORATE OPTIONS AVAILABLE AT OTHER TIMES.
